About

A practice rooted in presence

Dr. Sharon Dugan founded Gloaming Therapy for adults whose worry gets louder when the day goes quiet.

Her work draws on psychodynamic, somatic and contemplative approaches, with a structured sleep method, CBT-I, for the nights that need more than reflection.

Gloaming is named for the hour between day and night, when the world softens and it can feel easier to notice what is underneath. Sessions are a place to do that, with someone steady beside you.

Our Approach

How we hold the work

Therapy here is a human encounter between two people willing to be present with whatever comes up.

  • A Japanese rock garden with flat stone slabs on raked gravel below green trees

    Somatic Awareness

The body carries what the mind can't always put into words. We use somatic tracking and breathwork to notice tension and give your nervous system room to settle.

  • A white armchair and a palm plant in a lounge with dark wooden cabinets

    Relational Depth

The relationship itself is part of the work: a place to practice being seen and met without judgment.

  • A window looking out on green trees beside a radiator and a draped blanket

    A Sleep Method

When nights are the hard part, we can add CBT-I, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia: a short, structured method with a sleep diary. Dr. Dugan's CBT-I training is through the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
